Discover the Geneva countryside and the new vintage
Geneva, third largest wine region in Switzerland, enjoys a special situation, with three distinctly different aeras. The Mandement (including Satigny, Dardagny), with its gentle hills and excellent exposure, the regions between two rivers—l ’Arve et Rhône (Lully, Bernex, Soral and more), and the river to lake area of Arve et Lac (Jussy, Anières, Gy, and others). This Saturday, 30 May, more than 70 wineries will open their doors and invite you to discover the excellent 2025 vintage. Wines matured in oak in 2024 will also be presented.
This discovery day is an excellent opportunity to explore the Geneva countryside, to wander from one wine village to the next as you go through these three regions, each with its own character.
The day pass and engraved glass
The day pass, with original artwork designed by internationally renowned cartoonist Chappatte, who has also created the poster for this year’s Open Day, is available directly from the wineries. Cost: CHF20.
The price includes the traditional engraved glass showing the canton’s coat of arms. The glass has been specially designed for an optimal wine-tasting experience.
Getting around
To make it as easy as possible to get around on the right bank, in the Mandement region, the Geneva wineries Open Day is working closely with the TPG public transport company, which is providing free shuttles between the villages. In the Arve et Lac region, on the left bank, wineries are working together to also offer a free shuttle service. The regular TPG lines will be operating in all regions, including Arve et Rhône, to carry you to the wineries that are taking part in the event.
The CFF is also putting on extra trains on the Léman Express La Plaine line (please note: bringing bicycles is discouraged). In addition, Taxiphone is offering 10% off on all trips the day of the event, 30 May.
